Hi:
I'm sorry I didn't back to you sooner. The vet was gone for two weeks and I did get Alexia in and she is just great. He did give her a rabies shotand a dewormer a little sooner than normal. Said because of where we live, out on the tundra. And we do have some foxes around not that she is ever alone yet, but guess better safe than sorry. I got my first full night sleep last night. She didn't cry to go out at all. Hope it stays like that. She is much fun, I take her mining with me and when I dig the shovel in the grouns she has to dig to. We took her on her first camping trip last Tuesday, she was great. Didn't get car sick and was great on the boat. Even got a small swim in with her. Everything is well. Unlike my other dog she could care less about the pike flopping around the boat when its landed. Shes sure a joy. Oh, she has a ball that when I roll it she runs and gets it and brings it back and is pretty good at releasing it.
Again, sorry about not getting back to you sooner.

Just a note to let you know things are going great with the
new pup. I,m
very pleased with his personality and get a lot of compliments on
his looks.
He gets to spend a lot of time with me and has bonded well. He learns
quickly and is very attentive. Its only been 2 weeks, but he has
grown a
lot. I hope to see you at some of the club meetings.  Gary

Hi, Ginger!
Thanks for writing! It is great to hear from you. Aziza is doing so
wonderful! My dream come true! 5 months and 40 lbs. She is very beautiful. I
get compliments everyday. I have her in a puppy obediance class, which I
wanted for socialization. Leroy and I have taught her obediance commands in
german and she is very strong. She has wonderful attention (when not
over-stimulated!), especially for 5 months. We have paid close attention to
socialization...taking her to the airport, stores, on walks with lots of
people, saturday market, work, etc. I want her temperment to be solid before
starting Schutzhund. She loves to track, we have started to have her find
toys as well as food. Life is one big game for her...how refreshing. I would
love to bring her by sometime.
I have attached a few pictures, but they are not very recent. They are from
August. I will take some this week and send them on to you. Have you set up
the Testimonial page on the web-site? I looked about a month ago and it
wasn't up, yet. Let me know...You bred a great dog in Aziza.

Talk with you soon!

Dear Ginger and Hans:

I just wanted to write and let you know how much we love Eska (Bristol).
She is SUCH a smart and beautiful pup!!  She's started formal training
and sits, stays and come when off  lead.  She learned 3 tricks (shake,
sit up pretty, and roll over) by the end of August, and rings her bells
to go outside.  She's so inqusitive about everything.  She rides in the
car well, and still sleeps in her kennel at night and when we are away.
Housebreaking was a  breeze, as she really learns quickly.

Her one big  "oops"  was when we took her in our boat down the Tanana
with Jay's parents. They were in the boat, and Mariah passed Eska in, on
lead, and the pup proceeded right across the boat and out into the river
on the far side!  Grandma had the lead and hauled in the wet puppy.
Eska wasn't much worse for wear, but it was a scare for us. She just
didn't have a clue about what water and boats were about! But she
learned, and loved the boat trip and time runnning on sandy Tanana
beaches.  She met chickens, sheep and a goat this week, too, over at a
friends.  She likes my garden boxes, stays out well, but she loves to
snag peas on vines that drape over the edge. So that's what I've used
for some training treats, fresh peas!

She is really a lovely dog, she has such nice proportions, especially
for a puppy - she's just like a minature Shepherd!  She's getting salt
and pepper coloring on her neck now, and is a bit lighter in the face.
She goes back to the vet's this morning for her last set of shots.

Thanks again, and I recommend everyone who compilments her to you!  We
are really pleased and so thankful to have her.  How is the August
litter doing? I've checked the website for photos of them, as I bet that
is really an outstanding litter.

I'll send a long a photo when I have more computer time.

Ginger
I just wanted to let you know that Brew is doing great. We went to the vet (Diamond Animal Hospital) on Friday for our shots and she also got a kennel cough vac because we will be starting puppy class at Alyeska Trainers on the 10th. I liked the vet a lot, thanks for the recommendation. She weighed 17 and a half pounds the vet said she looked good and was happy to see her a little on the lean side. Today we went for our first walk and I couldn't believe how well behaved she was. I've walked her in the yard and she did ok but outside she was extremely attentive and followed directions well. She responds to come now and kennel and off along with sit and down that she already knew. She just a wonderful pup. I'll send pictures soon, she's getting a lot of black.
Sarah

Hi Ginger,

I just wanted to let you know that everything with
Heike is going great!  She is such an awesome pup!
Jim and I feel so lucky to have her as our own.

Some exciting news is this.  I just went home from
work to let her out for a potty break.  After that, we
went inside to play a little bit before I put her in
her crate, so I could go back to work.  Suddenly, she
gave two faint whines and ran to the front door to go
out!  I took her out and she went poo!  This is her
first time asking to go out, so I am very thrilled.
All the hard work and patience is beginning to pay
off!

Also, her left ear is almost all the way up and her
right ear isn't far behind.  She's really growing fast
and beautifully.  It's great to see the little changes
each day.

We'll send a photo soon.  We've taken enough pictures,
as if she's our first child.  :)

Hi, Ginger,

Thank you so much for keeping in touch with us. It means a lot to me. Aziza
is doing wonderfully! Leroy and I would like to bring her out to your place
so that you can see her. She is 60lbs., beautiful, smart and driven. I miss
the puppy look, but she has grown into a very regal-looking and
well-tempered GSD. (I'm a bit biased!)
In the training arena, we have been focusing on obedience and tracking. Ziza
and I have been working with a trainer named Deb Gillis who is a member of
our dog club, Alyeska Canine Trainers. I have even started teaching
obedience classes. Anyway, I am hoping to test her in August for her TD. She
is so natural and we have overcome the 20 minute hump and also turns! I am
sure that I am making mistakes, this being my first dog, but it is so much
fun and we have a very stong bond because of it. I am waiting until next
year for obedience testing, we need Attention and Attention Responsibility
classes before we're ready. And that's about it!
How are Hans and the family? The new litter? I hope everyone is well and
that you have been enjoying this beautiful summer. We have taken the dogs
camping and attached are a few of our favorite pictures. (You certainly
don't have to put them all on the web...you choose) Aziza LOVES
camping...hunting bees and chasing sticks and looooonnng walks! She is
always ready to GO!
I need to talk with you about prelim x-rays...should I have them done when
they aren't certified until 2? I have heard several different opinions and
would love to get yours. If I do get them done, I thought I was supposed to
get them done at 1.5 years? Please, let me know your thoughts!

Well, I had better get going. Please let me know if you are available before
July 22 or after July 29 (I will be out of town) for a visit. We would love
to bring Zeez out to see you.

Thanks again, Ginger. Say hello to Hans for us!

Hi, Ginger,

I am writing with excellent news and definitely a posting for the
testimonial page! Aziza had her preliminary X-rays and her hips look "very
sound...they look good" quoting my vet! What wonderful news!! We are ready
to take on the world of dog training, full force. My vet also looked at her
lower back and elbows...and same diagnosis! Congratulations to you on your
excellent breeding and care of the German Shepherd Dog.
We will have her OFA'd when she is 2 so that her beautiful form can be
figured into their breeding statistics. I think it is important to show that
conscientious breeders are doing their best to produce GSDs as they are
meant to be.

I just wanted to share the news and thank you once again! We would love to
come by some weekend if you are willing and available. Just let us know.

Warm Regards,
Katy, Leroy and Ziza

Hi Hans and Ginger!  Happy New Year! 1/05

Heike had a very eventful holiday season.  I am sending you 9 pictures, in 3
e-mails, so I hope they come through OK.

We started off by flying down to San Diego, prior to Christmas.  Heike traveled
so well and every one at the airport was impressed with how much she loved her
crate!  We got to take her for a walk during our layover in Seattle, which was
a huge relief for us.  Alaska Airlines was very accomodating and some employees
really went out of their way to answer all our questions and concerns.

In San Diego, Heike had a blast playing with our 6 nieces and nephews and lots
of family dogs.  She behaved so nicely around the kids (ages 2months-12 years)
and other dogs.  We took her to the beach every day and she loved to watch Jim
surf!  The whole experience was so positive for her.

We then went up to Salem, Oregon for Christmas.  She got to interact with her
first cat.  Heike loved the cat, but the cat wasn't too keen on her.   She behaved
very well during present-opening....only ripping apart things we gave her.

Once we landed back in Cordova, she was thrilled to romp around in freshly fallen
snow.  She's 54 lbs, and her coat is really gorgeous.  I love the distinct marking
on her face.   We get compliments whenever we take her out.  We tell people
that all our research to find a great breeder really paid off!  Thank you!

3. Heike and Trent checking each other out.
11/05 - Just wanted to show you what a beautiful dog Heike is growing up to
be!  We get compliments on her all the time; from her good looks to her outstanding
personality.  She's totally a social butterfly.  Whether it's adults, children,
or other dogs...she wants to meet everyone and be their friend.  People are
amazed at her maturity level at such a young age.  They see that she's playful
and puppy-like, but knows when to be on her best behaviour.   Her favorite thing
in the world is to run.  She runs and runs, just for the sheer joy of it.  She's
such an incredible athlete!  We love her so much.  She can be so amusing and
such agreat companion.  I always have to laugh when I think there are 7 littermates
out there, probably just like her.

We'll keep in touch,
Signe and Jim Fritsch

Hello Hans and Ginger,  Hope all is well with you
and your family.
Alic and I are doing great. We are
continuing our schutzhund training and Chris is
teaching me to do some helper work. Now I have even
more to learn and also get a lot more excercise at
training.
I would like to thank you for my wonderful
dog Alic. He has excellent drive for schutzhund. (2
out of 3 judges wanted to buy him from me our first
schutzhund season)  He is obediant, a great
companion, and protection dog. I truely couldn,t ask
for a better dog. You did and excellent job of
socializing him as a pup, all the paper-work,
registration, shot records, tattoing and purchace
contract were very professional. I would highly
reccomend you to anyone looking for a qualitly
German Shepherd.
Hope to see you this summer at training or
trials.
Sincerely yours. Gary Carroll

We purchased a 2 year old female from Ginger Rex at Von Brinke Haus Kennels. She arrived in excellent condition and was just as Ginger said she would be. A very well trained and healthy female that we went on to breed many excellent litters from. Ginger did an awesome job of raising and training Talon from 13 weeks until she came to live with us. Ginger is very honest and easy to deal with. I would recommend her kennel and dogs/puppies to anyone looking for a well bred, well cared for German Shepherd Dog for working and or family companion.
